Children books

Klara Persson and I got photographed in my studio in the beginning of the week for an article about children book illustration and art. Here is Klara's latest book "Maximilian och minimilian". She is going to Bologna for the Children book fair and so am I. I'll be a part of the exhibition "Upside down - Contemporary Voices of Swedish Illustration", it will be at the Museo Civico Archeologico di Bologna, Via dell’Archiginnasio 2 , Bologna. Opening: 25 March, 7 p.m. 26 March-14 April. Eva Lindström, Emma Adbåge, Karin Cyrén, Joanna Hellgren, Maria Libert, Emelie Östergren e Moa Schulman. Organized by Hamelin.
I'll be signing my latest italian book "C'era una volta una storia"/"Once upon a time there was a story", from Topipittori, in their stand at the fair at 5 o'clock on monday. Ana Ventura will be there too!

What I am working on

I'm working on another children book for Topipittori (here is the last book - Too Late/Troppo Tardi). The one I'm working on now is, very briefly, about a book and all the fantastic things that can emerge within a book and it's story.

Richard is here!

Finally Richard is printed and in my hand!! He speaks both french and italian :) Giovanna Zoboli is the writer and Topipittori the publisher and I'm the illustrator. Vorrei avere

I've got Vorrei avere (maybe something like "I wish I had"?), a new book from Topipittori, in my hands. Written by Giovanna Zoboli and illustrated by Simona Mulazzani. As all their books it is beautiful. An extra plus for the sketches in the end of the book.

Paolo from Topipittori says - "If anyone is going to Bologna, for the Children's BookFair, the original illustrations will be on exhibition in Vignola, at Libreria Castello di Carta, half an hour by train from Bologna station, with the bonus of a marvellous Renaissance castle, the most famous elliptical stairway in the world, and all the sweetness of Torta Barozzi" - I can testify that the torta is very tasty :-)

Three things

I've sent all material to Topipittori for the book about Richard (remember my struggle to find him?), so now it is just to keep the fingers crossed for everything to turn out well. These are two of his friends.

The Uppercase magazine sure is a good magazine!! I hope they will find an european distributor.

Remember Richard? He's still here, you can say he's been on vacation.... for a long time.

Still looking for Richard

Richard is the main character in a lovely story that was sent to me by the Italian publisher Topipittori. They want me to illustrate this story, so I'm trying things out. It has been a lot of trying and not so much making lately. It is the best part of creating I think. When everything is still possible. I haven't found Richard yet or maybe he just hasn't introduced himself.

I'm very happy and honored about they asking me. They have many talented illustrators on their list.
