Cactus and cake

I thought cactus plants grew very slowly, I was wrong. It is a week between these two photos! I hope it will slow down so it doesn't get as big as these ;)
Shannon Gerard's Crochet cacti and other things, found through Uppercase.

A coffee break with a Pastel de Nata, right from Portugal. I was eating it thinking about Ana.

Camilla, that looks like a prickly pear variety of cactus. They often cover hillside here in California. Perhaps keeping it in a small pot will help slow it's growth from it's intended size of 4-6 feet.
