Weekend

Friday pleasures, and the first candle is lit in the advent candlestick. According to Wikipeda this is something we have done since 1930. At least here in Sweden we have a lot of electric candlesticks in our window. Do you have that in your country? If not I'll take a picture of that and show you another day.
I hope your weekend has been, and still is, great.
For some sundays now I've been following a tv serie Flying: Confessions of a Free Woman, Jennifer Fox -I love it. It starts now so I'll have to end this post here. See you tomorrow :)

Thanks Camilla for this great link! I'll buy this film because I think it will be difficult to see here in Spain (well, you never know!!!). I saw the screening and I'm sure it's very interesting...women talking!!! That's the best.

Those little mossy centerpieces are so lovely.

We did this all growing up. I would love to find a modern (5) stick candle holder (We did and extra one for Christmas day) and continue with the tradition. I'm sure it has something to do with my German/Swedish/English roots.

Sandra, jag bakade ett stekpanne bröd.

Bibbi, kan du se det ända där ifrån. Den är fin, från Nygårds Anna :) förra året.

A beautiful skirt, and wonderful candle-lit dinner.

I live in England and have lights in my windows. I love this tradition you have which I am aware of because my brother has lived in your country for 20 years. My window lights have been bought in Sweden when I have been visiting.

In Canada, we don't put lights in our windows. We should...it is very pretty: inside and outside! It is nice to take a walk and see all the little lights in the night. After my trip to Sweden, I decided to bring that tradition to my house. I just love it :)

We try to light candles all year at night, but truly, when you light a candle (especially white) with Intention of honoring such a gift of Spirit during the holidays, it just glows "extra" somehow.

Here (CA) the ornamentation is puzzling ...fake snow and snowmen on the front Lawns! Very strange yet true.

I've always loved your Saint Lucia processon...a woman with a crown of candles. So beautiful...
