The opening of Distant Friends

Before the storm...

...and during the storm :) It was crowded!

I talked with so many people and at the same time I didn't have time to talk to anyone, you know how it is. It was a great but crazy evening!!

Here are a few more persons I met:
Just before leaving, and way to short, Mariana Massarani
Beatrice Alemagna made me very happy by buying one of my drawings :) She told me she is planning something with Jockum Nordström, can't wait to see what that will be!
Long time web-friends - Natascha Rosenberg and Blanca Helga
Carll Cneut (Carll, you have to update your website!)
Cecilia Ramieri
Harriet Russell who had a brand new book ready for the fair.
Ana Castagnoli
Adolfo Serra
Violeta Lupiz
Mina, Aurora, Cristina and Violetta.
I know it was many more... but right now I can't remember... my apologies.

Ana also had an opening , the evening before, for her latest book "Nine stories about love"

Hanging in Hamelin

This is the way to Hamelin Associazone Culturale, you can hear the birds singing and someone practicing the piano. We, Ana and I, had a lot of great help from people at the Hamelin to hang the exhibition, like Guilia, Sarah, Alessandra, Alberto and Roberta. A special thanks to Valerio, who kindly enough, came by and helped us. Thanks to all the help we were ready just in time, three rooms took about three days to get ready.

Let's start working

Ana and I sent a lot of things back and forth to each other for this exhibition. We used the envelopes and photos of the process to make two houses.

Wet sandwich

I am not sure if it is because I am swedish or if it is because I am who I am, but here is my first breakfast in Bologna - I chose between the poor sandwiches I see. But those portuguese people (Ana and her parents, José and Joselinda) know how to do it, I can hear a lot of chatter and soon they have lovely fresh sandwiches to eat... I decided to never order before them again.

I started my visit the night before this poor breakfast, with a fun dinner with Paolo from Topipittori, whom I am so pleased to finally have met in person, and the very sweet couple Paola and Luca from Notari Publishing (which happens to be the swedish illustrator/writer Emma Adbåge's publisher).

I'm back from Bologna

I'm back from the lovely city of Bologna. I had a wonderful time!!
I've met so many people and all of them nice :) If you were one of them - please make a comment or e-mail me, I sort of lost track of people after a while (sorry about that).

Collaboration in progress

These three photos are stolen from Ana's blog. They show our collaboration in process. See Ana's Serigrafia set on flickr for more photos. These are for our joint Exhibition in Bologna at Hamelin Associazione Culturale (Via Zamboni 15. Show opening is the 30th of march, and we will be there - so please pay us a visit if you are in the area). Topipittori is the reason we are there :)
