I always bring my drawing stuff when I go on vacation. I definately think I will use it, of course I will, there will be plenty of time. It doesn't work. What comes out is things like this, and these are the best parts. It's like I need my connection to home, my past, my future, my dreams, my family... Maybe if I stayed longer and felt more at home. Oh well, when I come home I'm full of inspiration and work lust.

Camilla, I feel exactly the same. I bring always a lot of drawing stuff anywhere I go. But I use it so rare and the results are not very good. I definitely need my table, my radio, my home for the work. Maybe, it´s better to just enjoy and to work with the memories :-)
u're drawing style is cool. have a nice vacation! :)
For me the best ideas come when
I am on vacation or resting my mind. For the realization I need my place and all my stuff, so all I am taking with me in holiday is a journal where I can collect all the ideas :)
I also bring all the drawing stuff to vaccation... and also cannot make a sketch worthy mention. I guess it is a time to absorve experiences and observe, rather than to produce anything...
I think I use it, but it's not purposeful.
I do the same thing and never use any of the drawing stuff, but I do bring a head full of ideas. But it's nice to know you have them in case you get a sudden burst of inspiration :) I love the doggie hug!
maybe its just the seeds of ideas and new elements that you get when moving around and then when you are in your own environment you can modify them, I do find when traveling you get so much visual stimuli so you want to catch and document it somehow, maybe the end result is not the most important always...
I have to say I like the first one very much...

Thank you for sharing the link but does it float. I just visited the site, it is most wonderful and has very unique imagery.
I think your sketches are great! They look fresh and spontaneous. :)
It's just the same to me :) I need my home and environment to create fine , when i go out I can draw something , but really nothing that makes me feel full ......
but I really love the third sketch :))
Same with me too but I don't even take the materials out! I really like the first one too! I like the broken lines.
I love your style of drawing. I am going on holiday tomorrow and i will be taking my drawing stuff too, i hope my sketches come out as good as yours!
jag gillar allt den lite"större" skissen. Vildare och smutsigare än du brukar vara annars...
Jag gör själv bara "skalövningar" (som mina strandskisser) när jag skissar ute (dvs jobbar på tekniken ... öga-hand-hastigheten). Inga konstnärliga pretentioner inte;)
Hi Camila, this drawings are so cool! I love the rough look and ambience. Thanks for sharing! Your blog is always a fresh pause on my day.
Hi Camilla, I viewed your profile and it occured to me that I like almost the same music as you :) I'm from little town in Poland and I adore your work. It does inspires me, I'm totally smitten. It would be great to hear from you. I've just got into Academy of Art in Pozen and I'm interested in how it is to be an artist ? Lots of love, dominika (domusdomus@wp.pl)
well those look great to me be checking the other stuff in your blog now have a good holiday
Your drawings are lovely. It is true, we have the best intentions. A vacation is sensory overload. It is so exciting. There is much to do, to see. The results come later. When the mind settles.
Maybe you fill your mind with images, people, sentiments, light and sounds while you are on holidays. You can hardly draw while you are filling. And when you arrive at home, start to empty this bottle. Just need to fill to draw.
I love But Does It Float - what a great photography site. I was unaware of it until your link so thanks for that.
And the drawings are terrific.
hi camilla,
my name is Mara, I'm from Romania and I discovered your blog for some times and I don't get enough of it. I even written about it on my blog about you (if you want to read address is http://free-creativity.blogspot.com/)
thank you and keep in touch :)
You have your own style, and it just Beautiful..
I love the expression of the big dog in the second picture. Wonderful drawings.
I Like your work :)
what a relief ! I thought I was the only one who makes pictures that look made with my feet !
I wish I would'nt need my desk, window and lonelyness to make something real good.
(although I do not mean that YOUr pictures looks like you draw them with your feet...)
but i LOVE these!
I am exactly the same. But it's always worth taking, because you never know when there might be a moment when you do paint or draw.
