Arkiv: De ufullendte / Archive: The Unfinished Ones,
Kari Steihaug. A fantastic book from
Magikon . A whole book full of unfinished knittings and the stories behind it.
"Archive: The Unfinished Ones is about the poetry in imperfection and about directing attention to something failed and lost. It is a documentary project and can simultaneously be read as an expression of many aspects of life that turn out differently than we plan."

It looks like a very nice book. To admit myself, that just yesterday I went through my own cabinet of unfinished things, only talking about cloth and yarn this time. There is a box at my parents´ where all the unfinished projects of my mother are. One of the biggest treasures for: to think to who it might have been meant to, how it could look like. But more than that, they are just perfect like that, unfinished. Still so full of ideas, thoughts, dreams.
Happy weekend Camilla.
hi Camilla
this is a very special project, bitter~sweet. How often Life is not completed under our control, but at the organic destiny of so much more. I can feel all these pieces sewn together into a whole.
*much kindness*
How interesting that someone thought about doing a book on this subject...
As Kara said, this is a bitter-sweet project; very moving to learn about the stories attached to each of these unfinished objects.
Have a good weekend!
j'ai envie de regarder encore et encore la moindre chose montrée ici.
Jaa, tänk den där ljuvliga Kari Steinhaug!
I feel that this honors those things that remain unfinished... imperfect. "Failed and lost" as the author said. I love it. I don't feel so bad about my drawers full of half done projects or things that just turned out ugly. Or any of my less than perfect ideas.
What a fantastic book!!!
wow, what an amazing project; and sooo
