Hello Camilla, not spectacular, but tasty and good for grey days: a delicious drink. Here are the ingredients: ginger rosmary lemonpieces or limepieces (honey) hot water or pear juice The drink is not colourful, but tastes great. I cook regularly a pea mince soup which has a spectacular colour and it tastes fine. Best Regards, Katja
All three things sounds good to me! I will certainly try them, especially the champagne ;) Could I use something else than butternut squash (I am not sure I can get hold of it)?
spicy vegetable soup: potatoes, courgettes, cauliflower, chili, carrots, peppers and tomatoes. sprinkled with gouda when served. it makes you feel warm and comfortable!
i use this recipe for tomato sauce with everything, pasta, soup, chilli, bolognese - it's so simple, and totally amazing! we live on it in our house :)
dear camilla, how about this one ? this is one of my favorite winter comfort soup, pumpkin chicken miso soup with a bit white sesame and japanese shichimi on it,, ,
Love the pink and white swirls so colourful. When it's cold and grey we go for comfort food like mashed potato, sausges and onion gravy. Not so colourful but definately tasty.
2 cups (280 grams) all-purpose flour 1 tsp baking powder 1 cup/2 sticks (130 grams) butter, softened 1/3 cup (75 grams) granulated sugar 2 egg yolks 1/4 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 teaspoons orange blossom water zest from one medium sized organic orange 1/3 cup (50 grams) apricot preserves
Mix together flour, baking powder, and, salt. In another bowl, whip together the sugar and yolks. In another bowl, mix together butter, vanilla, orange blossom water. Add the butter mixture to the sugar mix. Add this mixture to the dry ingredient. Refrigerate for one hour.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees f. Butter a cookie sheet. Remove the dough from the fridge. Using a 1/2 tsp measure, scoop out the cookie dough and form cookie dough balls. Lightly flatten them. Lightly indent the top with a finger and place 1/4 teaspoon of preserves.
Bake for 12 minutes, reversing sheets from top to bottom and back to front after first 6 minutes. The cookies should be barely colored on the sides, slightly darker on the edges. Wait for 10 minutes and transfer onto a rack to cool.
What a great shade of pink! It's still summer over here so I can be lazy with raw fruit and veg. Lately I've been making hummus, but I make it different every time! I'm jealous of you cosy winter comfort :)
I love that second photo. Such beautiful colours. What is the pink and white thing? It looks like some kind of vegetable. I think I would like to try it. :) I like to make chili in the winter, with orange and yellow peppers, green courgettes, red tomatoes. The main thing to remember is a teaspoon each of cumin, chili and coriander, and then to serve the white of the natural yoghurt.
In Swedish they are called "Polka beetroots" and they are just lika any beetroots, whether red or plain yellowy. Thet taste about the same, but the wonderful thong with these are that their colour don't make most of your kitchen red if you're not careful ;-) They taste terrific, eg. just baked in the oven with Feta-cheese, but are a bit hard to get hold of. (Sorry that I reply in your place, Camilla, but I thought that my insights woukld be helpul. If not just tell me, and I'll back off! /*

bon apétit
:)
Beautiful! sigh.. winter
BETOR slår det mesta, så det är synd att det ofta bara finns Rödbetor, när Polkabetor är godare. Möjligen för att de är så estetiska!
hmm, i think any kind of squash could work...
maybe even sweet potato/yam, if squash is hard to come by in general!
