I got this little treasure from a friend, the Rose of Jericho, native to deserts of North Africa. A resurrection plant. It is beautiful just as it is but you are supposed to put it in water (I'm waiting until Christmas) and it will get alive and green, then you can dry it again and use it over and over again. See the process
here.

I have one too and I love it - they - and the story behind them - are so beautiful.
I can't wait for Christmas!
I didn't know it was called The Rose of Jericho. They sell them on the streets here and I had no idea they could be dried and used over and over again. How enchanting!
i have one, too, since like 4 years now... it really doesn't die. i think it's so fascinating how quick it opens up and turns green once you water it. And it smells good, too :)
:-O
I have it, every time I woke it up (because it is like sleeping) is a great satisfaction...definetly love it!
Wow, that's amazing! So pretty too.

That's beautiful! Living art. Can't believe it will still come back to life.....looking forward to the next set of pictures.
I was hiking today in Mexico and found something that looks like it... I instantly knew I had seen something like it. I brought it home and am so excited to see it bloom.
Thanks!!
