We where walking around a lot. We tried to find another location of the 10th International İstanbul Biennial, it was pretty hard. No signs and people didn't seem to know anything about it. One very good thing about looking for a specific location is that you find your way to places you probably wouldn't otherwise. We finally found the gallery. Trying to find the gallery was a much better part than visiting the gallery... For me the city and everything with it was so exciting, the art could not live up to that. Maybe the same things had been great for me here in Gothenburg? I decided to give up, just to let the city overwhelm me. Some of the others went for more art and they where pleased so...
Kassel, in Germany, is a much more boring city (sorry Kassel) and they have Documenta, maybe that's a better artexperience.

Aha, thank you for the information.
I will definately go to Istanbul again, there where so many things I didn't have time to do. Like going for a turkish bath :)

Great. Cemberlitas Hamami (Turkish Bath) is the one I highly recommend, I try to go everytime I visit Istanbul.
So many beautiful photos! I miss Istanbul so much! Luckily we'll be going for a visit in 10 days... I was glad to see these photos... made my day when I'm so home sick! Thank you!
I Camilla
hope you had a nice trip.
My morher arrived from Istanbul (turki)2 weeks a go and she said it was the most fascinating place she visit till this days.
:* (for you and Morran)
Thanks for sharing your photo's again. I swear, you are doing the footwork for me inspiration-wise, because I love that bag and will take a tapestry course this winter, am I wrong or is it tapestry weaving on the bag?
It has been a pleasure seeing your photos. A few years ago my sister went to Istanbul, and all she could talk about was how dirty it was. I was aghast when she told me this, but then my sister is a stuck up bitch who sees "ancient" as "dirty". One of the many reasons I hate her! Your pictures are gorgoous. What a beautiful place Istanbul is. Thank you for sharing!!
Thank you.
Lisa I think you are right, it's like a carpet.
beautiful photos! what a great idea for a bag.
in fact, it's not a bag... it's a device to carry big weights. something regional, which is used by porters. (hammal) you can't put something "in" it, contrary you put things "on" it.
they usually use old carpets to make this, maybe because they are not slippery.
look at this picture...:)
