Instagram

I started to upload photo's to Instagram when Sandra and Johan moved to Berlin about 2 years ago. I wanted to send them photos of their old neighborhood, from cafe's they used to visit and photos from Gothenburg to make them homesick and wanting to come back "home". Since that was 2 years ago and they are still living in Berlin you can understand that my mission failed.

My old webfriend, Lisa Solomon, said that it felt a little bit like blogging did in the beginning. I didn't understood what she ment at first but now I do and I like it. It is sort of back to basic, just photographing things that happens during the day. Of course it helps that it's so easy to put the photos out there, no need to plug the camera to the computer, resizing the pictures and upload them.
And again I felt that urge to show my friends out there (who ever you are :) things/feelings/work... what ever. This also made me think about blogging, what happened? Or maybe it's just me...

Well, instagram is fun and these are the pictures I uploaded yesterday (as you can see my phone isn't that good for taking photos - blaming the camera huh..). My instagram name is camorran.

I love it -- it feels like a more real version of facebook and twitter combined: it's a powerful thing to get a visual sense of friends' days.

I totally feel like you and Lise about Instagram - It is such a good way of catching all those little moments that my blog started out being all about -and then the question is, what the blog will become? I don't know yet -it is not dead, but it needs to do something different than Instagram -or do the same, just in a different way

I love Instagram and I am following you there as well as here. I do like the spontaneity of it and playing with the different filters.

I love instagram too! It'a a different way to blog. Sometimes it's hard to do the same thing (like take care of the blog) and we are more attracted to do other things...like pictures!

For me, I love the immediacy of instagram and that reminds me of early blogging days. It is quite conversational too, which I enjoy. Blogging feels different now to me too. It is quieter. I miss the chatter. But I would miss not posting. I love it still. And I love visiting your blog and Lisa's too. Perhaps blogging became too formulaic and polished or perhaps people found posting took too long?

I think artist have to find their own way to share and the way they feel more comfortable which,, times change and also the mediums we use to make art and "talk". the point is to do what you feel. instagram let you share and express more fast, show us your day, your daily life, your inspirations, ecc,, blog is something more well done, something to take care more, something where you can show some good photos and some text and people can read and enjoy with calm. is different but can be also the same, is different and can be always be different too... the key is inside us. we decide who to do itm that's wonderful. I love your blog, and your instagram page. is a wonderful way to communicate.
many hugs to you.
