Studio thursday

I bought a big carpet to my studio since I couldn't stand the ugly floor. It feels much better now. If you have trouble working you can always photograph :)

I love the blog world! Peg (grafikmuse) sent me a package full of "stamp rubber", since I can't get hold of it here in Sweden Thank you so much!! Now I'll just have to figure out what to do on/with them. Here's a rubber stamp tutorial. Hier houd ik is a creative rubber stamp carver. Kirkus makes nice stamps with letters. After making rubber stamps I would like to do this :)

Still looking for Richard

Richard is the main character in a lovely story that was sent to me by the Italian publisher Topipittori. They want me to illustrate this story, so I'm trying things out. It has been a lot of trying and not so much making lately. It is the best part of creating I think. When everything is still possible. I haven't found Richard yet or maybe he just hasn't introduced himself.

I'm very happy and honored about they asking me. They have many talented illustrators on their list.

Hiding in the snow

Godmorgon vänner. I've updated my site, if you are a frequent "reader" of this blog you have probably seen most of it before. Take a look at paintings, paper and illustrations.

I bought myself a pair of Docksta slippers to wear in the studio. More slip in shoes, clogs, from Calou and Trippen.

Hello my friend

So, it's already friday. Monday and tuesday feels like the beginning of a long week, thursday and friday the end, that leaves wednesday - wednesday is the week. No wonder a week goes by fast. The weekend doesn't count :) But have a good one, nevertheless.

a fox and a wolf

One day these were standing in a slope near my studio, a fox and a wolf made out of the same components. Helena was sure I were their maker, unfortunately I'm not :)

Mark Jenkins and an interview with him in Format Magazine.

Cherry blossom trees

I woke up the other day and the light and air was bright white. There was a strange fog outside, foggy but still sunny somehow. The fog disappeared but left crystals in the top of the trees. It felt like walking under cherry blossom trees. Sometimes the light feels different and things look different in it. The walk to my studio suddenly felt exotic. On my way I meet Eric and his daughter, pretty exotic too :)

You are my Valentine

Un-cooperative

I wanted to put yet another face on Morran, she wasn't very cooperative though.
Have a good weekend.

Ceramic + face

Still trying to find a way to approach Karins ceramic. Playing with them. The same face in different ceramic pieces, it looks like different persons. Maybe Bibbi's right, I should do something BIG on them.

I've been tagged a few times lately (Emma, Marie-Louise, Celia, Computerarte ...) I'm sorry, I'm not so good on that. I wish I were. I've been thinking about that, why can't I tell my favorite movie, favorite book, favorite food, favorite artist, favorite colour or five funny things about myself!? Don't I like to watch movies, read books and so on? I do. I've decided to think it is because I like it so much, I can't possible chose :) If you could ask me a question, what would you like to know?

Emily Barletta has a very nice blog. And so has Gennine. I wonder if I could get hold on a stamp carving block here in sweden, I've never seen one.
I've posted this link before, but it is such a treasure it is worth beeing here again - H.C Andersen Billedbog.

A very well packed surprise package

On my way to the postoffice there is a small tree grove (a cluster of trees ?). On those trees there are these strange things attached. Gives me a kind of Blair witch feeling. But still, I like it.
I got a very well packed surprise package from Molly! The cutest cups and saucers. Thank you so much Molly! I was fishing inside the box for a long time to find the note I knew were in there somewhere. On the note there was something about chocolate - back to fishing, I have to say it was worth it. The chocolate/caramel with seasalt on, was soo good :) Sandra came to the studio, just to use the bathroom, and eat one of them. I'm afraid the chance that Elisabeth (whom I share studio with) will get a taste is very small (she's out of town right now).

Everyone look the same

I got inspired by my latest post :)
Use this - If you have a bad day, have to meet people you don't like, someone talks to much, eats with their mouth open or just makes you nervous.

Ceramic fun

Karin and I made a collaboration last year, remember? We called it "Mme Ochre and Mr Black". I attached my pictureworld to her ceramic. We had so much fun we wanted to try to take it further, do more. We started to think about it in the late summer, but after that time just flew away.
This time Karin has made these delicious, thick and small bowls - I think of them as stones. But they are, as stones often are - perfect, and that of course scares me. What could I do to make them look better. I don't want to add and destroy. So right now I'm just playing with them, trying to make them less intimidating :)

Finding our place

My paperfriends and I like it here in the studio, I almost doesn't want to go home at night. I've brought a very good tasting bottle of Port, I end the day with a small glass.
